This writing assignment requires you to watch a film, “The Devil We Know,” (Soechtig,

2018) and then respond to the following questions about the content of the film. The

documentary itself is available for rental from iTunes, NetFlix, Google Play, and Amazon

Prime for a nominal fee. Students may also obtain a copy of this documentary from another

source.

words or 4 double-spaced pages (12 point font, 1” margins)

2. Describe what you see as the major themes or primary issues raised by the

documentary (1 paragraph)

3. Discuss how the legal system responds to the conduct of DuPont and its handling of

PFAS discharge into the environment, using examples from the documentary to

support your discussion. Do you think that concerns addressed by plaintiffs in these

cases are justly resolved? Why or why not? Use a definition of justice from the
