The broken windows theory suggests that neighborhood disorder creates fear. Certain neighborhoods send out “signals” that encourage crime (deteriorated housing, unrepaired broken windows, etc.) For the police to reduce fear and fight crime in these areas, they must rely on citizens for help and support. How can the police reduce fear in areas with deteriorating neighborhoods and increase involvement with the police in well-to-do areas? Explain yourself
