actoid- (Used Clothing Donations) due Friday by 11:59pm. (Feel free to do it much sooner, like now!) E‐response due Tuesday by 11:59pm.

We will be posting "factoids" throughout the quarter. These are short bits of information about people, things and events to give us some collective background about these subjects, why they are important or worth studying, and how they are represented and discussed by different media and other sources. The factoid should give enough information or context to stand on its own. For instance if you mention a book tell us what it said and why it was important.

Please do a quick search on the web for information on used clothing commodities chains/trade and post a source of your choosing (published or web source) on that topic. Along with the reference to the source, write the following in one paragraph: please describe the source where you found the information; who is the author; who is the intended audience; and why do you think this information is being publicized on this source?

CAVEAT: I want you all to pick unique factoids, so the sooner you do this the better. If you are a late poster, please read all the previous factoids so that you don’t duplicate the information.

Along with the factoid each week please draw on relevant course readings to respond to one of the factoids. Pick one of your classmates factoids that interests you and then draw on what you learned in the readings to comment on, raise questions about, analyze the meaning of, etc... a factoid. 

Feel free to respond to more than one factoid, but you only need to reply to one. You can reply directly in the factoid discussion forum.
