  • The claim you are supporting should be clear

  • The claim you are refuting should be clear

  • Relate your evidence to scientific topics
    • Clearly relate your evidence to specific ideas within the chapters we have covered (or will cover)
  • Your presentation must be at least 10 slides long
    • Note that your Abstract should be given on a single slide (If your abstract takes up more than one slide, those additional slides will not count toward your total of 10 slides).
  • Your presentations should not consist of text only
    • Use images, videos, tables, and graphs to support your points.
  • In general, try to follow the 7x7 rule
    • No more than 7 bullets per slide, no more than 7 words per bullet)
    • Do not use this as an excuse to avoid writing complete sentences! Sentences longer than 7 words are perfectly acceptable when needed
  • Check your spelling, punctuation, and grammar
    • This is probably the most overlooked aspect of the Semester Project - you will lose points for incorrect spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Your presentation should end with a Works Cited page with a full set of references
    • You must have at least one peer-reviewed source among your references (ideally, all of your references should be peer-reviewed, but I wont deduct points if they are not)
    • Remember to cite your sources on each slide to show where you used them
