Pick a simple ionic or covalent compound (≤3 different atoms) from healthcare, industry, or nature and explain its importance. Your chosen molecule must be unique, meaning it has not been posted already. If your peer has posted about a molecule, then you are required to choose a different example or you will not receive credit for your initial post.

I picked  Phosphorus trichloride to write about.

Along with explaining the importance of your molecules, you could address the following aspects:

Basic chemical properties

Biological importance

Industrial and practical applications

Historical or scientific significance

Part 2 — Formula Practice (Three Valid Formulas)

Now, give the chemical formula only for each of the following: 

• A covalent compound containing no more than two types of elements
• An ionic compound with no more than two types of elements
• An ionic compound containing a polyatomic. 

Be sure that these compounds are valid (for example, the charges balance out in the ionic compound) and that the subscripts do not exceed 10.
