External Influences: International Perspective Assignment

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to get you to think about how cultural distance

affects the acculturation process.

Preparation Instructions: 1. Compose your response to this activity in Microsoft Word.

2. The paper should be formatted and typed using Times New Roman, 12-point font,

double-spaced, and one-inch margins (no exceptions).

3. The length of the paper should be at least 2 to 4 pages (excluding cover page and

reference page).

4. Use APA 6th edition formatting and use a minimum of 2 references.

5. The paper should contain a cover page and reference page.

Content Instructions: 1. Select a country that you think would be an interesting country to live in.

2. Examine the country’s CSV scores, which can be found at https://www.hofstede-

insights.com/product/compare-countries/.

3. Address the following questions in your response.

a. In what ways do you think these scores might affect your lifestyle in that country?

b. How do you think the cultural distance between your home culture and this

culture affect your acculturation process?

c. Would it be easy or difficult? Why?

4. Finally, outline what you learned from this activity.
