1) Look carefully at the formal elements that are discussed in the beginning of the material for this course. These are some of the building blocks we use to be able to discuss works of art. For this assignment, pick a well-known work of art (it can be your favorite work, or just one you know about, from any era of art history). Make sure you include an image of the work you pick, and the biographical information (artist, date, medium, etc.)

Evaluate/discuss the artwork by discussing at least 4 of the formal elements discussed in the material. This will help you practice skills you will use in your visual analysis paper at the end of the course, and throughout the class as well. Your assignment should be at least a paragraph long.

2) Pick a Rococo painter from the list below and do a little more research on him or her. Write  what you find about your artist and discuss how the work of that artist reflected the stylistic elements of Rococo painting. (1 page)
