It is a lecture by Dr. Scott M. Lacy of Fairfield University. In this film Dr. Lacy unpacks the ambiguities around race, skin color, and biology. After reviewing the history of Social Darwinism, you’ll see how Franz Boas and other 20th century anthropologists shifted our understanding of race to show how it is a cultural construct, independent of biology and geography. Look carefully to see if he mentions any African American anthropologist who were involved in this research. You may choose any oneaspect of his lecture to write your weekly review.  Write 100-200 words about your film choice. You will access the film using this link: https://www.thegreatcoursesdaily.com/biological-anthropology/
