BRETT:
I believe that there were several significant lessons learned from Vietnam. It's my opinion that the most significant is that not every citizen is going to buy into the ideology or forenign policy of their government. Unike the support the American soldiers recieved during WWII, the Vietnam soldiers were considered by some as criminals invading a foreign land. During the Vietnam conflict, many of the younger generation launched protests against our involvment. It was large divide among the citizens of the United States. I believe it is at this point that a new culture of political division started. People started solidifying their beliefs in how the government should work for it's people and towards other nations.
