 Many scholars argue that a proper role for the judiciary is the protection of minorities. They argue that the other elected branches of government must necessarily guard majority interests. Does the Supreme Court protect minorities? How does the Supreme Court differ from other political institutions in that regard? In what ways might we think of courts as protecting minority factions from majority factions? (Do not consider state or trial courts in your answers)
