Dr. Jennings received the following email from a principal in the Nalukai School District who is asking for information about two school funding-related cases, Serrano v Priest (1976) and Abbot v Burke (2011). Hi Dr. Jennings, 

I’m hoping you can help me out here. I am enrolled in EDD/731 (The Economics of Education) at the University of Phoenix. I heard you just completed your doctorate there and you would be a great resource for me! 

I must write a synthesis of two seminal lawsuits, Serrano v Priest (1976) and Abbot v Burke (2011), for my next assignment. I must compare the decisions in these two cases, which I have read, and then synthesize the similarities and differences between them. 

My biggest question is this: How do these two pieces of litigation impact my work related to budgeting in the Nalukai School District? 

Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated! See you next week at the principals meeting!
