Feedback from instructor (find your own topic on google scholar)
Hi, Thad. You should pick a published academic article that aligns with something interesting to you. The textbook references a lot of articles, for example, throughout the chapters. Your theory matrix also includes the "major thinkers" on a particular topic. So, the first place to look is at articles that are referenced in the textbook, read one of those, and write the summary. Even better, though, would be to find your own source on a topic of interest to you using a resource like scholar.google.com. Say that you are interested in women's leadership in sports. You would then enter that search into google scholar and see what comes up. You'd review the articles, find one (ideally newer than 2015) and read it. You'd then provide the summary of that article. I recommend this second pathway. The big idea is that you are building your own "database knowledge" on a leadership topic that is relevant to you. One core idea that separates graduate school from undergraduate is that you, yourself, should be researching and investigating things interesting to you whereas in undergrad you were told what to do. Now it's your turn to begin crafting your own thinking. If you have doubts about the article you pick, please ask me before you do the work of reviewing it.

Research Question or Central Issue: The problem is that this paper tried to discuss and explore modern leadership theories and their practical consequences for organizations with different contexts. The research question has targeted the establishment of how different types of leadership styles influence organizational performance and employee satisfaction at a culturally diversified workplace.
Hypothesis or Research Questions:
There had not been specific hypothesis, yet a few research questions were placed:
1. How do the transformational and transactional styles of leadership link to the motivation and performance of the employees?
2. What is the difference that cultural diversity makes to the effectiveness of the above two styles of leadership?
3. How can the strengths of diverse teams be utilized positively by their leader?
Methodological Issues or Main Points:
This is a conceptual paper that brings together existing research on various theories of leadership, namely, transformational and transactional aspects, as well as servant leadership, against the background of relevance in today's global diverse workspace.
Methods Used:
This qualitative review article discusses and analyzes the current literature relating to the various theories on leadership. Additionally, the case study is used to illustrate the application of such theories in practice.
Major Variables/Issues:
These main variables being the leadership styles-transformational, transactional and servant leadership while the rest are organizational effectiveness, employee satisfaction and cultural diversity.
Strength of Adopting this approach;
1. An intensive literature review will provide the wide scope for reviewing the current literature on leadership theories.
2. Case studies presented will provide live evidence where some theories are practiced.
3. Qualitative would give more insight into the subtleties of the leadership styles and how these would affect teams with diverse backgrounds.
Limitations of Using This Approach:
1. Inability to reach definite conclusions since empirical data is lacking.
2. Any bias can occur if the studies reviewed are not representative.
3. Case studies, even if relevant, cannot be generalized for any and all organizational settings.
Findings/Outcomes or Conclusions:
It also follows that transformational leadership is most effective within diverse contexts because it allows the elaboration of innovative approaches adapted to the context. However, transactional leadership may turn out to be less productive within dynamic and multicultural contexts, but within stable ones, it will be just fine. As for servant leadership, it was underlined in the review as related to empathy and ethical considerations highly relevant to manage diverse teams.
Discussion of Findings:
They go on to explain the results and give much importance to the fact that adaptive leadership is required and imperative in today's world of globalization. It has also emerged that the leaders need to be sensitive and flexible culturally in their approach in dealing with diverse teams. These results can be generalized in future studies as an extraction for studies conducted to evaluate leadership styles in diverse multicultural environments.
Major Contributions to the Field of Diversity and Leadership:
1. Indicates the need for cultural diversity in respect to the effectiveness of the leadership
2. Gives critical evaluations of current theories of leadership.
3. The case studies give real life views of how such theories can be applied to diverse settings
Your Opinion/Reaction to This Article:
This is a good source for information with regard to elaboration of leadership in a diverse environment. It was the emphasis on transformational and servant leadership that really called to my way of thinking, considering that effective leadership requires empathy, adaptability, and profound knowledge of cultural specificities. However, the limitation exists in the lack of empirical material, and further research has to be pursued with regard to quantitative tests for the validation of this type of results. Paper provides a good background in general for further research and greater application of leadership theories in multicultural settings.
