- What roles do analogy and metaphor play in the Buddha’s discourses on meditation? Discuss examples.
- How might a meditator attain superpowers (iddhi or abhiññā), and what should s/he do with them?
- What lessons are imparted by the tale of king Ajātaśatru, who slew his own father? What does this have to do with meditation?
- What is “breathing mindfulness?” What roles do breathing and breath-control have in Buddhist meditation?
- In what ways are practice of the Four Divine Abidings (loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, equanimity) thought to transform the one who practices them?
