Consider your company's supply chain management team. What are some of the higher level positions and what are their responsibilities? If you came in as a consultant, discuss some recommendations for change including staffing, policy and anything else you can think of.

Phenemonex’s Senior Logistics Manager is responsible for overall logistics operations and ensures a high-level service quality for customers and cost-efficient operations. He attends meetings to develop business plans and goals for the department, follows up on customer complaints, and directs his staff to ensure an effective operation. There is also the Warehouse Manager who works on warehouse operation system improvements by analyzing process work flow. He communicates to employees his expectations and operational objectives to improve productivity, customer satisfaction, and maintain company standards. If I was a consultant, I would recommend more efficient communication between the logistics department and the warehouse personnel, often times because of miscommunication, time is wasted because there was a discrepancy or an item is missing. The company also needs to implement more procedure standards to reduce error between the quality control department, quality assurance, and shipping and receiving departments. The employees in the supply chain need to focus more of their efforts on efficiency in the warehouse and managers need to provide a clear and insightful training program to build a more effective performance-based approach to the supply chain.
