You will produce a midterm paper double spaced of at least 1500 words total. You MUST CITE your sources in the paper, either via footnotes, endnotes, or in-text citation.  Be consistent throughout the paper.

1. Please compare and contrast the transition from authoritarianism to democracy in two Latin American countries using as a guide the book, "Transitions from Authoritarian Rule". I also expect to see some references to the text by Halperin Donghi.
