Reflection
The practicum course has been very informative and engaging. I have learnt new therapeutic
techniques and consequently applied them in practice. The aim of this Journal is to clarify how I
integrated the therapeutic strategies from the course into my practice and how this helped me achieve my
goals and objectives. This paper will also clarify how my experience with clients with mental disorders
can affect social changes.
Therapeutic Theory
My clinical approach was cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) at the outset of this work. My
understanding of CBT as a clinical treatment of patients with mental illness has been reaffirmed after this
realistic encounter. Whereas before this clinical experience, CBT was only a hypothesis that I learned in
literature and recognized as an evidence-based method of care, I now saw the use of CBT and experience
in its implementation and saw improvement by clients. Therefore, my therapeutic theory has shifted
