• Team dynamics can be defined as the willingness and the ability to function in an
interdependent manner where the members rely on one another for accomplishing the
common goals and objectives (Belker, 2019). A wide range of factors come into play that
ultimately influences team dynamics. The chief factors that contribute to team dynamics
include open communication among the team members, empowerment, clarity of goals, clear
goals and responsibilities, the existence of an effective leader and application of reward and
accountability model (Belker, 2019). When individuals work in a team setting, all these
elements come into play and influence how they function and deliver.
• The team dynamics can play a vital role and have a major impact on the overall
productivity and effectiveness of a team. For instance, there exists solid cohesion and
understanding among the members of the team which has positive dynamics. On the other
hand, in a team with negative or poor dynamics, the members lack the proper understanding to
operate as a single unit (6 strategies for managing and improving team dynamics, 2019). The
team dynamics can have a direct implication on how the members perform and how smoothly
they can accomplish the intended team goals. Positive team dynamics can make people happy
and satisfied. It can thus boost the performance and improve the productivity of the entire
team (How group dynamics can support or hinder Agile team performance, 2019).
• The information relating to team dynamics that have been covered this week can be
applied in the real-life setting. In fact, they can influence a team in a positive way which can
strengthen the team performance. For instance, by ensuring that there is open and transparent
communication among the team members, an open and trustworthy environment can be
established. It can ensure that the real-time flow of information among the team members
positively impacts the team performance. Similarly, while working in teams, there is a need to
establish the goals and responsibilities in a clear and understandable manner. Such an

approach can make sure that the members can understand what is expected of them and act
accordingly. In order to boost the team dynamics, a number of strategic approaches can be
introduced. For example, the leader can play an influential and inspiring role to make sure that
the members get proper direction while working as a single unit. Similarly, there is a need to
introduce rewards in the team so that a healthy completion can be created among the members
and they can contribute to attain the team objectives.
