If I chose to run for federal office, I would run for a member of Congress. The reason for
this is because they have the power to make bills into laws. Before anything gets passed into
law it is put up for discussion and debate. I am one who is always up for a debate, I always
try to make sure that I look at all the pros and cons before making any decisions. If the law
is something that I feel that should be passed I want to be part of passing it.The
responsibilities of Congress are the power to asses and collect taxes, to regulate commerce,
to coin money, to establish federal courts, establish rules for the government, have the power
to make laws, as well as propose amendments to the constitution upon approval of two-
thirds of both parties. If I were to ever run for a federal office, I would run for senator. I
would want to run for senator because I like the idea of having a say on what new laws will
be in effect. I know we technically already get a say with voting but I think it would be nice
to be able to discuss and debate the topics along other educated people. The most important
role a senator has is to represent their people. They should always vote with the best interest
on the people they are representing. Senator's are also responsible for informing and
engaging with the public. To become a senator you must be thirty years old, a citizen of the
United States for nine years and live in the state which they wish to represent. Your term is
for six years and you may run after your term is over to be re-elected. Checks and balances
were created to be sure no one branch got too powerful which means as a senator you must
help check over the executive and judicial branches. I would run for senate because I feel
there is a little more power to pull in the seat of a senator and I like the idea that I could
have a little more power to pass bills into law that make sese and I could have a little more
pull to find ways to have more legit politicians and be able to have more power to speak the
truth to the people trust me when I tell you the politicians we have right now would not like
me in power I am an independent and I also am a libra I would definitely be changing up the
way the administrative house plays I would definitely be making sure all the powers in
control heard the voices of the people. I feel that we need to have more people in the
administration that truly care about the people and healthcare and safety of the borders than
we have right now and I also would make sure the constitutional rights and amendments
were followed by all the powers. My choice in the federal office would be the legislative
branch. Legislative branch is the most powerful of the three. Duties include the making and
passing of laws, debates, and the power to override the president. There are some very
important decisions made by this branch some include control of taxing and spending
policies, grant copyrights and policies, establish bankruptcy laws, impeach and convict
federal officials. To become a part of the legislative branch I must be at least 25 years of age
and a U.S, Citizen for a minimum of seven years. You must be voted in by the American
Citizens. One example of check and balance with the legislative branch; legislatures make
laws but the president have the power to veto those laws. Checks and balances were put into
place to limit the powers of the branches. If I chose to run for a federal office it would have
to be the legislative branch. The idea of representing American people and making our
nations laws would be ideal for me because I have a lot of different ideas for laws and the
way our nation should be run. The roles and responsibilities of this office consist of making
laws that influence our daily lives, representing the people, and educating the public. U.S
Congress today very much so lacks representing all the people as a whole, and seem to focus
more on specific people like rich white men. That is something I would most definitely
changed. The legislative branch contributes to the function of the U.S government by
sharing power with the executive branch, which is led by the president and also shares
power with the judicial branch, which handles the supreme courts and other courts. All in all
the most important role of the United States Congress is its legislative authority and the way
they manage their budget.
Some checks and balances of the legislative branch is that they can make laws but the
president has the authority to pretty much over ride with a presidential veto and the judicial
branch can declare them unconstitutional. If I ever decided to run for a federal office I think
that I would want to run for the Judicial branch of the government. I would choose that
branch because I have an interest in laws and discussing the legality of certain topics so I
think that, that would suit my interests well. When looking at the responsibilities of the
Judicial branch you would see that they are mainly dealing with law, such as settling legal
disputes, punishing violators of the law, and protecting individual rights granted by the state
constitution these are just a few examples of what this branch is ultimately responsible for.
The Judicial is very important and contributes a lot too the overall function of the United
States of America such as being in charge of the meaning of laws and how to apply them to
a real world setting ,which is helpful when deciding whether someone needs punished
because there will be a defined answer on why they have broken a certain law, but then they
also decide if those laws break the constitution. If I could choose to run for a federal office,
I would run for the U.S. Senate. While both the U.S. Senate and the House of
Representatives both can combine forces and pass a law, the U.S. Senate is more appealing
to me. The U.S. Senate consists of 100 persons, 2 from each state. This means that the size
and population does not matter; every state has 2 senators. Before there were definite 2 seats
per state, there were arguments that each state’s representation in the U.S. Senate should
correspond to the size of the state, but that was simply not fair for the smaller states. Each
state’s representatives are elected by their own state. The U.S. Senate serve 6-year terms.
Every two years, one-third of the Senate’s members are re-elected. This makes sure that
there was stability to the Senate, and hopefully bring more stability to the other branches of
government. . These reasons are only some of the reasons I would choose to run for the
Senate. The senate is the Libra of federal offices in my eyes. They bring balance to the
individuality of the states. If I was to chose to run for a federal office it would be The
Executive Branch. The Executive Branch is the head of Commander-in-Chief of the armed
forces. There are many roles The Executive Branch plays such as chief administrator,
commander in chief, chief legislator, and many more roles it plays in the government. I
would like to be in The Executive Branch because I would love to enforce rules so that the
armed forces knows what to do. I would make sure things run as planned because not only
would I have to take care of myself but also the people that is under me that depends on the
right person to run the government. The Executive Branch can also veto or reject or even a
proposal for a law and appoint federal post and be able to negotiate foreign treaties with
other countries. The Executive Branch contributes function of the U.S. government by
conducts diplomacy with other nations and the President has the power to negotiate and sign
treaties which the Senate ratifies. The Executive branch also leads the country's relations
with foreign nations. Also I would love to be in The Executive Branch because they are a
part of the lawmaking which gives them the rights to make laws that is suitable for the
Government. If I had to choose federal office to run for, I would choose the executive
branch. The executive branch is congress. Congress is made of the Senate and the House of
representatives. The primary objective is to discuss ideas and opinion to make laws that
would benefit both parties. In the legislative branch, I would want to be able to look at how
laws impact different states and learn why there is such a disagreement on laws like a
woman’s right to choose, abortion rights, voters right, the right to medical just to name a
few. Other countries provide free medical, and college education. America is the riches
country, and we cannot seem to agree on what the country needs so that people don’t
struggle. I think that law should be update based on how our society operate today. An
example is the truck driver that was sentenced to 110 years base on the law. Although he
had an opportunity to take a different route, how can a law that was created, decades ago be
held, if the circumstances are different based on today’s society. Part of the incident was out
of his control (failed brakes) I agree he should do time but not the rest of his life, he can then
spend that time giving back to others because of his mistake instead of rotting in jail. Laws
should be made to discipline but also teach lessons learned for the future. If I could run for
federal office, it would be the House of Representatives. I would want this position because
they are focused more on the citizens and their wants and needs. Being a legal citizen of the
elected state for at least 7 years and being at least 25 years of age will give you the chance
to see what concerns are being voiced and hopefully the wisdom to understand these
concerns.
Some of the responsibilities of the Hose Representative is to make laws, represent their
designated area in assembly and to oversee public policy administration.
Being in this position of government allows for the citizens' concerns to be voiced to the
others of the Representatives which can in turn makes these concerns laws. This position
gives the everyday people a voice in how the state or district they reside in is run. Being that
the government is so vast, it can miss concerns of areas that are not a part of its immediate
focus. I feel that this position brings light to those areas. If I were to run for a federal office
I would most likely want to be under the legislative branch of the government because I
would want to work with Congress. I personally would like to run for Senate because I
would like to work with bills and legislation. I would be able to run because it requires the
candidate to be at least thirty years old, be a United States citizen, and be a resident of the
state they choose to represent in office. The Senate works along side the House of
Representatives to write legislation that affects American policies foreign and domestic. The
Senate, along with all of Congress, exists as a checks and balance system to the President. If
the President of the United States vetoes a bill he does not agree on, the bill is sent back to
Congress to amend the bill for corrections. I think this is a super important and vital part of
our government and it would be an amazing opportunity to be a part of it. If I were to run for
a federal office I would want to work for the counsel on environmental quality (CEQ). I
have always been interested in anything that deals with our environment, as well as our
health, the air we breathe and the wildlife that inhabits it. The (CEQ) developed out of the
national environmental policy act (NEPA) which was created in 1969. Bill Clinton got rid of
it in the 1990's. He created the white house office on environmental policy. He wanted to
make more of an impact and be more of an influence and be taken more seriously. As of
2021 Brenda Mallory became the twelfth chair.. She has worked with the environmental
policy agency close to twenty years. of the Some of the responsibilities include on
recommending policy's to the president that help improve our environment such as the clean
air act. They are also make decisions on building roadways that may disrupt protected
wildlife that may be endangered. The (CEQ) is part of the executive branch.
