Most of my new's nowadays comes from platforms such as twitter and instagram and
so on. I try to think logically to see whether the news i am seeing is propaganda or in
fact reality. The sources have to be credible also because nowadays people can
photoshop anything they want and make it seem real.
I myself do follow politics. I was a Bernie supporter because of the student debt and
free health programs he was preparing. I also am registered to vote so i would
consider myself active in politics. The critical thinking I use while encouraging people
to vote for the next candidate. I feel like we are now obligated to vote because it
gives you a say in government. This biggest fallacies i see nowadays are
advertisements on television. Nowadays everything runs on advertisements. A
company can have a basketball player advertise a cheeseburger or sponsor a
restaurant and then they basketball player receives profit. If someone asked me
what my favorite concept was for this class, it would be fallacies. For me they were
the most difficult to understand and i will do more research in order to understand
the material better.
I get most of my news from some sort of social media. I then check it with other
news stations and web sites to ensure I have the correct information on a topic that I
am interested in. I make sure I analyse every source possible it is a topic that I am
wanting more information on.
One of the ways that we can get involved in the governmental process is to listen to
speeches and make informed decisions and then go vote. Encourage others to due
there duty and go vote as well.
One fallacy that I see a lot is when it comes to dishes, for example "Pioneer Woman"
claim to be better dishes. I personally do not like many of them because of the
patterns or the colors. The information in our chapter will help to point out some of
the fallacy that the big stores use when making these claims.
I have enjoyed several chapters of reading through this course. It has really opened
my eyes to different aspects of an argument.
