I think I relate to bias 1, "one of us, one of them". I would have to use an example as
to be on my job and the staff that I work with "on of us". I would say my coworkers
that I'm cool and close with, I would help them with job related stuff or outside of job
related things anytime. But the ones that I consider "one of them" the coworkers
that have took my kindness for granted more than twice, I could care less of what
they needed help with on or off the job. I look at them as, suspicious all the time. I
think for me to overcome this social error or bias is to keep doing what I am there to
do, work and go home, so I can pay bills.
The fallacy that I have used at my job on a daily basis is, trying to recruit new clients
to live in a residential setting by giving them the glories and benefits of what the
treatments could do for them to get them on track to one day live on their own.
However, it is a good layout that we can tell some of the new recruits but, once
you're in the door and see what really goes on, its like half of the advertizing that's
done was a lie. The most interesting concept learned this week was learning about
socal errors/biases and fallacies. I didn't even realize what a fallacy was but now,
knowing that we come across fallacy everyday, this will make me alert and
distinguish between lies. I'm still questioning how I relate to which bias.
