I would say that I am mostly affected by the "One if Us/One of Them" error. The
reason being is that in my field that I'm in now you don't see a lot of female leaders.
Now I have accepted that there will never be a female leader at any of our terminals,
at least no time soon.
When I was working at my first job "Rainbow", they use to have sales all the time.
For the shoe section they had "2 Pairs for $20", well at the very bottom it would say
"Selected Items Only". Customers would get very angry and call corporate
complaining that their sign was misleading and that they needed to change it.
Critical thinking helps you analyze the reasoning behind the fallacies so you are able
to maybe not agree but understand why it was used. I enjoyed looking at the
interactive video about fallacies on what is it and how it is used. The example of
politicians was spot on as they do this to make themselves look like the better
candidate.
After reviewing the four social errors and biases and as much as I hate to admit it, I
think I relate most to social expectations. I like to think I don't relate to any but I find
myself leaning towards this because mainly of social media. I often say I don't really
care for the most recent fads or bandwagons but I usually find myself falling right
into it when I play on my social media. I think sales and media post a lot of fallacies.
There are certain stores who will use their brand to promote in an advertisement and
when you go to use or do said promotion, its nothing like they said it would be. I
think if you're more open-minded and willing, you won't be fooled by fallacies.
