Critical thinking is a trait not everyone has, but should posses. Emotions are
something everyone has, but doesn't always want. There are many reasons as to
how emotions can influence someones critical thinking skills positively or negatively.
If you have to make a decision on something your emotions do not agree with, some
may not make the decision at all, and some may make the wrong one due to their
emotional involvement.
In a situation where my emotions and my reason do not align, i try to look at both
aspects of the decision i make, with emotion or without. Some instances you have to
be biased, and exclude your emotions to make the best choice for every party
involved. As a hostess, you have to make a decision about where to seat a big party.
If the next server in rotation only has seating for a party of two and a party of eight
comes in you have to work around that person. Even when you know they need to
money, and the table, you have to put your emotions aside to seat the incoming
guests in the correct place.
With all that is going on in the world right now, I thought I would share this resource
on Coronavirus Misinformation Tracking Center. I know things have been developing
so we get new information as more studies are being carried out; however, some
sites are blatantly sharing false information. If you click the link for the sites listed, it
details why the source is not credible. I encourage you to check out a few and report
back on your experience if you are interested in getting better information about our
current world situation. Thanks for your thoughts!
