I would tell my friend to find a good Realtor to help her. A bad Realtor would make
the process harder and more tedious then it needed to be. I would also tell her that
any house she was interested in should be inspected for damages or needed repairs
before she considered to know she wasn't moving into a faulty house.
She should talk to a lender or someone who handles mortgages to see what is with
in her price point. She should also sit and figure out how much money she has and
her budget so she knows to stay within her price point.
I would advise that she try to keep herself out of debt to keep her credit score for
dropping. I would also recommend she pay all her bills on time to help build her
credit by showing she's reliable and responsible.
I have an extreme lack of understanding of buying a house because I've never had to
do it. The only knowledge I have of buying a house is watching what my aunt and
uncle had to go through recently when they bought a house and moved. My
understanding has changed a little because this week I got to learn more in depth
about parts of the process.
