Being that I just do not like Apple products, I am very much a pro Android guy. I never
understood why people were so head over heals for apple. They are extremely
overpriced for what you are getting and what your capability is. The key features I find
are great for consumers of androids:
• Open OS
• Always on Display
• Widgets
These might seem a bit odd at first, but I am thinking in terms of ease of use for the
consumer. Firstly, the open Android OS helps when you want to be able to customize or
develop. Now given, most people would not know how to use that feature, but if you
could, you have a huge array of things you would be able to do with your phone. The
closed OS with Apple makes things very difficult. I don't want to have to "jailbreak" my
phone to be able to have the things I want.
The Always On Display is something that is just nice. It uses very little battery, and if I am
not wearing a watch or just want to see who text or called me, I could just look at my
screen see the message and done. If I feel its important I will reply. Apple, to my
knowledge doesn't have a feature like this.
Another ease of use type of feature for me are widgets. Simple weather widgets or even
my music player when I am in the gym, which can all be controlled through my Always
on display. Again these are more ease of use things that I like, but in for the running to
name a few is the camera night mode, which again, to my knowledge, Apple does not
have. The Cameras themselves are far superior, and people could fight me on this, but
Apples latest camera was given to them by Samsung; they were going to put that camera
in their S20 line. Another great feature is the home screen itself, with no type of
developing or 3rd party apps, you could be able to have as many or as little icons up,
where as Apple has a mishmash of apps all over the place that you have to put in
folders if you want to make it look cleaned up. Simple scroll up on the screen of Android
and all your apps are there, away from the Home screen.
Ease of use is great, and after testing my girlfriends iPhone, yes it was difficult to
manage, but what isn't when you are a different OS user. It's like mac and PC. While the
machines themselves are good, I just do not like the fact that they are so closed in their
own little world. Simple fact that most all things are only shareable through apple
products....Or music itself if you wanted to listen to it usually means buying an apple
app. I'm sure that is changed though. If I am wrong, please let me know; I would love to
hear your feedback on this, Apple users.
