Normal Forms are a powerful tool for data analysis and software engineering. They help
analyze data and structure code efficiently. There are several types of Normal Forms
including First Normal Form (1NF), Second Normal Form (2NF), and Third Normal Form
(3NF) functional. All of these forms allow you to view software components as a set of
processes that work together to complete a task. Normal forms prevent unexpected
problems such as software bugs that cause a system to fail. Some of these bugs are caused
by duplicated code that carries out the same task in two different places, which is known as
redundancy. Common problems are inconsistent data which can cause problems in the
system and lead to errors. These problems can occur if two or more parts of the system
contain conflicting information which stops them from working correctly. Another bug is
caused by different software that performs the same function being combined into a single
program, which causes an error when the two software programs work together. These
problems are eliminated by using normal forms to identify and simplify code sections that
duplicate each other and remove any unnecessary functionality from the program.
Normal forms are being used in software engineering to make sure the data entered into the
software form the user is compatible with the database. Another reason is to make it easier
to work with the data in the database. If your database is bult without normalizing it will be
hared to find, enter, edit, and delete data form the database. The database would be hard to
get the relationships to work correctly if the data is not normalized. I have not yet had to
work with a database as I am new to information technology but look forward to working
with them. I hope to not run into any problems, but I am sure I will have a time when the
data is not problem normalized and the database will have problems. I hope that with what I
learned in class I will be able to handle the problem and correct it in a timely manner. I

huge difference until a lot of data groups load up farther than it once was, taking up storage
space on the tables. Handling identical data when the tables are now loaded can be a
laborious process. To lessen data redundancy, constantly delete lists that are required no
longer. 3NF is deemed sufficient for a normal relational database layout. A relational
database table is often depicted as “normalized” if it is in the Third Form since most of the
3NF lists are open from such anomalies as insertion, update, and deletion. Last week, we
had a product council meeting in my company. This meeting is attended by the highest
level of executives, developers, and key stakeholders in our organization. We were
reviewing one of our product release processes to ensure that everyone was aware of the
standards contained in the process and how we implement them in our organization. For
stakeholders in an organization to work well together, they have to follow the standards and
processes of the organization, especially when it comes to software engineering. Software
engineering and software application development and implementation are too complex to
make up the processes and steps each time that we design and implement systems. If we
make up the steps each time and don't follow processes and standards, we will significantly
increase the chances of failure on our projects.
when typically designing a database, the database designer will implement the 1st - 3rd
normal form and not include additional normal forms. The higher-level normal forms cause
tables to be spread out into multiple tables which increases the number of joins. More joins
mean slower application performance. Writing SQL statements with joins is also more
complex, so it increases the complexity of the SQL code.
