Reflection
A challenge I faced this week was figuring out the difference between multitasking,
multiprocessing, and multithreading. I am not sure I knew multithreading was even “a thing.”
Another challenge I faced was learning what each port and connector looks like. I previously
took an IT course and used Labsim, so that part of the assignment was successful. I enjoy
working with the Linux system. Also, I learned several new things. First, I learned that BIOS
was an example of firmware. I thought BIOS was part of the hardware. Also, I learned that
kernel is the core of the operating system. Finally, I learned Linux commands that I previously
did not know. One example is the “man ls” command. “Man ls” brings up a manual or list of
shell commands. For more extensive information on how to use the Linux system, you would use
the “info” command. Labsim is an excellent, “hands-on” way to learn.
