Performance Management: Employee and Labor Relations
MGMT 7073 - Human Resource Management
University of Cincinnati

Employee Discipline/Incentives
Precise, clear, and realistic company goals and objectives need to be
present in order to promote individual and organizational growth.
With the input of department managers, an agreed upon set of most
important competencies will be organized to use in the performance
management appraisal to promote growth of employees and give
guidance for improvement. It is critical to not just appraise an
employees’ performance, but to also to recognize achievements and
suggest a career path for growth. WeaveTech will maintain a
performance scoring system that will pinpoint internal promotion of
employees.
WeaveTech currently has a strong reward system in place. The
employees feel the appreciation from the management of WeaveTech.
“Over 80 percent of the employees were satisfied or highly satisfied
with the firm’s compensation system” (Beer, 2015).
Using WeaveTech’s current principles, employees will be rewarded
for all levels of achievements. Less formal, all employee recognition
programs, such as monthly lunches for all, will ensure that all
employees are recognized. These specific incentives focus on team
achievements. It is also a necessity to implement individual rewards as
well.
By implementing individual reward perks this encourages individuals
to give their best, improves attendance and it also increases team
efforts and achievements (Aberdeen, date unknown). Recognition has
been directly aligned with driving employee performance, realizing
corporate objectives, reducing turnover, and increasing employee
engagement rates. This helps employees to maintain a balanced work-
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
life when non-work-related circumstances arise without consequence.
In order to retain the top performing employees, remain competitive,
and promote growth within the company, implementing health
benefits, retirement benefits, career paths and training opportunities
will be included in the rewards program.
Performance Management
Performance management is a way for administration to assess an
employees’ performance, growth, and progress towards meeting the
company’s goals. It is crucial to the success of a company. Employee
knowledge and performance of the task at hand is a major determining
factor in the quality and output of a product and ultimately the success
of the organization. The difference in the quality of that product
comes with the value of the talent you have.
WeaveTech’s current performance management system aligns well
with the company’s current mission statement. The mission to
continue to provide high quality apparel, meet customer needs,
improve employee’s well-being, and maximize stakeholders return is
apparent in current practices, but improvement is needed (Beer &
Swiercz, 2015). Executives notice the need for reevaluation.
The specific direction to achieve these goals by administration is not
clear and concise in the current plan. More detailed and specific KPI’s
and measurable goals will be created in order to give more
individualized feedback to employees. These will be more job specific
allowing for a more individualized career path and improvement plan.
Employee and Labor Relations
There needs to be an open line of communication between employees
and management to ensure that input, needs and company objectives
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
are clearly communicated and understood so that the overall
organizations goals are achieved. It is safe to say that most employees
are looking to grow their current position and move up within the
organization. This is a likely goal for the company as it not only
cheaper to hire within, but it also gives employees a goal to strive for
and the drive to try harder. Having specific objectives, resources and a
realistic timeframe as well as open communication make the needs of
both the individual and organization’s needs achievable. WeaveTech
currently has a very unclear and overwhelming set of key performance
indicator’s [KPI]. With 18 KPI’s and little explanation of these KPI’s,
employees are left feeling overwhelmed. The definition of each KPI,
or goal, and the way to reach that goal need to be communicated more
clearly.
Feedback and training needs to be given regularly in order to build
motivation and growth within the organization. Regular performance
appraisals need to be conducted on a consistent basis so that needs for
growth and exemplary achievements can be clearly communicated to
employees as well.
Conclusion
Implementing a successful performance management system within
WeaveTech is a must to ensure that the system is fair, consistent, and
nondiscriminatory. The Equal Employment Opportunity Act was
established in the 1964, Title VII Civil Rights Act, to ensure all
employees have an equal opportunity at obtaining a position of
employment or a promotion within the company regardless of sex,
race, national origin and religion (Houghton, 2016). It is important to
ensure unintentional discrimination against on employee or potential
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
employee as well. That is why it is crucial that WeaveTech use a well
derived thought out performance management plan.
To ensure WeaveTech’s compensation and benefits package is very
competitive, the job requirements, training, and skills needed, and
particular position’s contribution to the overall success of the
company will be considered. The KBI scoring system will be revised
giving more individualized and detailed achievement expectations per
company goal listed. This will allow employees the feedback needed
to grow their personal performance.
A company financial evaluation will be monitored regularly to
maximize the compensation package while staying within the
allowable budget. A market compensation comparison analysis will
also be completed regularly to maintain a competitive edge. Along
with base salary pay and team incentives, individual incentives will be
a regular practice. This will give the recognition to the top performing
employees all the while enticing other employees to continue to work
hard to earn that recognition as well.

competitive, the job requirements, training, and skills needed, and
particular position’s contribution to the overall success of the

giving more individualized and detailed achievement expectations per
company goal listed.

There needs to be an open line of communication between employees
and management to ensure that input, needs and company objectives
are clearly communicated and understood so that the overall
organizations goals are achieved.
Regular performance
appraisals need to be conducted on a consistent basis so that needs for
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
growth and exemplary achievements can be clearly communicated to
employees as well.
It is important to
ensure unintentional discrimination against on employee or potential
employee as well.
This will give the recognition to the top performing
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
employees all the while enticing other employees to continue to work
hard to earn that recognition as well.
These will be more job specific
allowing for a more individualized career path and improvement plan.

continue to provide high quality apparel, meet customer needs,
improve employee’s well-being, and maximize stakeholders return is
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
apparent in current practices, but improvement is needed (Beer &
Swiercz, 2015). Executives notice the need for reevaluation.
The specific direction to achieve these goals by administration is not
clear and concise in the current plan. More detailed and specific KPI’s
and measurable goals will be created in order to give more
individualized feedback to employees. These will be more job specific
allowing for a more individualized career path and improvement plan.
Employee and Labor Relations
There needs to be an open line of communication between employees
and management to ensure that input, needs and company objectives
are clearly communicated and understood so that the overall
organizations goals are achieved.
Regular performance
appraisals need to be conducted on a consistent basis so that needs for
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
growth and exemplary achievements can be clearly communicated to
employees as well.
It is important to
ensure unintentional discrimination against on employee or potential
employee as well.
This will give the recognition to the top performing
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
employees all the while enticing other employees to continue to work
hard to earn that recognition as well.

company’s goals.
There needs to be an open line of communication between employees
and management to ensure that input, needs and company objectives
are clearly communicated and understood so that the overall
organizations goals are achieved. It is safe to say that most employees
are looking to grow their current position and move up within the
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
organization.
It is important to
ensure unintentional discrimination against on employee or potential
employee as well.

This will give the recognition to the top performing
employees all the while enticing other employees to continue to work
hard to earn that recognition as well.

a regular practice. This will give the recognition to the top performing
employees all the while enticing other employees to continue to work

Performance Management
Performance management is a way for administration to assess an
employees’ performance, growth, and progress towards meeting the
company’s goals. It is crucial to the success of a company. Employee
knowledge and performance of the task at hand is a major determining
factor in the quality and output of a product and ultimately the success
of the organization. The difference in the quality of that product
comes with the value of the talent you have.
WeaveTech’s current performance management system aligns well
with the company’s current mission statement. The mission to
continue to provide high quality apparel, meet customer needs,
improve employee’s well-being, and maximize stakeholders return is
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
apparent in current practices, but improvement is needed (Beer &
Swiercz, 2015). Executives notice the need for reevaluation.
The specific direction to achieve these goals by administration is not
clear and concise in the current plan. More detailed and specific KPI’s
and measurable goals will be created in order to give more
individualized feedback to employees. These will be more job specific
allowing for a more individualized career path and improvement plan.
Employee and Labor Relations
There needs to be an open line of communication between employees
and management to ensure that input, needs and company objectives
are clearly communicated and understood so that the overall
organizations goals are achieved.
Regular performance
appraisals need to be conducted on a consistent basis so that needs for
lOMoARcPSD|61746433
growth and exemplary achievements can be clearly communicated to
employees as well.
It is important to
ensure unintentional discrimination against on employee or potential
employee as well.
Along
