Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), is a cloud-based service of presenting software to customers.
Using SaaS users purchase subscriptions to a product rather than purchasing a physical copy
and installing it. Customers can login and use SaaS subscriptions from any corresponding
device connected to the internet. The actual software runs on the cloud servers that are
separated from a user's facility.
Challenges with SaaS:
Data Exposure: With SaaS data is stored off site and is subjected to the practices
specified by the cloud service provider. When the information gets to the cloud
service it are out of the reach of the business and within the SaaS providers and is no
longer serviceable and protected by the user’s network.
SaaS Usage Visibility and Control: Once the information has left the company's
network, they will have a hard time obtaining visibility into SaaS products and
managing their use.
Threat Prevention: Several SaaS applications regularly organize files with customers.
Also, copious amounts of personnel may utilize SaaS applications to communicate
information with people outside your company's management. These events produce
new preface of spots for malware. (Remote Sensing./Nov2021)
Preserving Performance: SaaS products are widespread because they are handy,
simple to use and fast. If your protection result weakens the user knowledge, you run
the danger of pushing customers to an unauthorized application. You do not need to
change potential or bandwidth constraints for approved SaaS applications.
