Single sign on authentications can have various advantages and disadvantages. One of
the biggest advantages is that you can pass through authentications whenever you sign
on with the remember me access portal that allows defers users from having to
continuously type the password in. From time-to-time users may forget their password
which can lead to multiple attempts which then eventually will most likely end of in a
password reset. Having the single sign on authentication elevates this error and the
user can move freely as they choose. One of the major disadvantages from the Single
sign on authentication is the fact of the privacy issue. Once the single sign on has been
activated the app will think that it is the same user every time. If another gets a hold of
the SSO then it will grant them access to the server. With granted access to the server
the ill-advised user can cause irreparable damage to the computer system and all data
can be lost.
