Invisible combination of gases that encompasses Earth
Essential elements that are found in air that most species rely on for survival:
- Nitrogen
- Oxygen
Earth's air is made up of:
- 99% is Nitrogen and Oxygen
* Humans and other animals depend on
- 0.04% is Carbon Dioxide
* Plants depend on
3. What is Water?
Substance made up of the chemical elements oxygen and hydrogen and can appear as:
- Gas
- Liquid
- Solid
Useful for recreation and travel as well as a habitat for a variety of plants and animals.
Water on Earth's surface:
- 97.25% found in the oceans
- 2.05% found in polar ice caps and glaciers
- Freshwater found in rivers, lakes, and groundwater
