Purpose of To obtain the Strategic Planning Professional Certification – Level I from
Opportunity the Association for Strategic Planning. The Strategic Planning Professional
(SPP) certificatioin is designed for strategy professionals and practitioners
who work with executives, directors, and their teams to formulate strategy.
According to the Association for Strategic Planning (ASP), the strategy
lifecycle includes strategy engagement, strategy formulation, preparing for
strategy transformation, and strategy execution, governance, and
evaluation (Association for Strategic Planning, n.d.).
Funds Application Fee: $250.00
Requested Exam Fee: $925.00
Nonfinancial Applicant must meet eligibility requirements set forth by the Association
Requirements for Strategic Planning (ASP). Applicant must submit a completed application
form with all relevant fields completed, names of two (2) references, and
updated curriculum vitae (CV) or resume.
The exam is three (3) hours and 160 questions and is available through live,
online proctoring. Once the application has been approved, candidates have
13 months to write the exam. Exams are offered twice per year in May and
November. Recertification is required every three (3) years and applicants
must submit 50 contact hours as well as pay the recertification fee.
