Many industries incorporate the TBL framework in their practices. These include the
manufacturing industry and the service industry. The manufacturing industry involves the
production of aircraft, chemicals, automobiles, computers, clothing, consumer electronics,
furniture, refined petroleum products, and electrical equipment, to mention a few. The service
industry, on the other hand, includes banking, wholesale and retail trade, professional services
(such as computer software development, healthcare, engineering, etc.), consumer services,
and government services, to mention a few. The following paper will analyze how strategies
for incorporating the TBL framework are similar and different across the manufacturing and
service industries.
