I learn best by engaging in a learning process in a practical setting. I believe that hands-on or

My chief skills are communication and interpersonal skills and collaborative skills. These skills

The chief skills that I want to improve upon or learn are emotional intelligence and cultural

My interests and hobbies are traveling and reading books. Traveling gives me an opportunity to

The main problems that I would like to address in the world are racism and climate change. These

Why are you in school?
I am in school to prove to my grandchildren that it is never too late to start something new, and you
can always go back to a former goal and complete it.
What are your strengths?
My strengths are problem-solving and self-motivation. Very useful skills in today’s busy world.
How do you learn best?
I generally learn best when I am figuring things out on my own through trial and error.
What are your skills?
My team at work has learned I have many skills. Problem-solving is probably at the top of the list,
but I also deal with a variety of personalities and become adept at negotiating personality conflicts
and helping my team stay safe at work when they find their home life overwhelming, mainly
through listening and being non-judgmental.
What skills do you want to improve upon or learn?
The skills I would like to see improvement in our patience and emotional control. I am a very
transparent person, and my emotions can cause me to make detrimental snap judgments that I
realize a short time later would have better to step back and evaluate before reacting.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy training others. This includes all ages from the youth I volunteer with to the adults I instruct
through our CPR/first aid classes. See your knowledge passed on and employed by others is a great
feeling. I also enjoy riding motorcycles, motorboating, camping, and reading,
What problems would you like to address in the world?
Is this where I say world peace, ending hunger, and curing cancer? I try to make the world better by
empowering the youth I have the privilege to interact with. They are the future and by teaching
them, and helping them develop their own skills, they will solve many of the issues facing the world
today. They will then pass that on to the next generation and allow them to tackle the new
problems that arise.
Where do you envision yourself in five years?
In 5 years, I see myself continuing to improve myself, advancing at work, and providing the best life
possible for my family. This includes plenty of family time as I have learned getting wrapped up in
making their lives better can take away from the all-important interactions that they want.

Self-care will always be relevant to my personal growth. I must remember to take care of myself
because if I do not, I cannot take care of those that need me. I also cannot continue to improve
myself and reach my goals if I am not healthy enough physically or mentally.
Why are you in school?
I am in school to get my bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology and, hopefully, and hopefully a
master's degree later. I want to be a crime scene investigator.
What are your strengths?
My ability to deal with stressful situations. I have served in the US Army for over twenty years and
have seen and done a lot. I think from my experience this role would be perfect for me.
How do you learn best?
Depends on what I'm trying to learn. If I'm interested than its definitely hands on or visual. If it's
something new I may need more one on one time to ensure I got it down.
What are your skills?
I have a few skills that I would consider vital to my day-to-day life. I'm a leader for sure and I have
great communication skills. I very passionate and detail oriented. I'm excellent at problem solving
and I always consider people's feelings.
What skills do you want to improve upon or learn?
I would like to get better with computer systems. I know the basics, but computers have never been
my thing.
What are your interests and hobbies?
My hobbies are watching sports and getting Starbucks everyday with my wife. I also enjoy spending
time with my kids and talking to fellow veterans on past duty stations when they served.
What problems would you like to address in the world?
I would love to address PTSD among our veteran population. I work in mental health currently and I
see so many brothers and sisters in arms that are dealing with so much stress. It amazes me how
there are tons of great resources available, but my veterans never heard of them. I think with better
education at the state and federal level we could reduce the hardships they face on the daily.
Where do you envision yourself in five years?
I'm not sure at the moment but hopefully have my master's degree and doing what I love which is
helping people. I think God has a plan for my life and he will show me the way. If it's something
else, I know I will trust in him.

self-care. I think it is important to take time out for yourself. I have always been the strong one in
my family or at work. I have learned over the years that if you do not take care of yourself no one
will. Self-care means if you are happy and content with your life then you can be there for those
you care about. Protecting your own mental well-being and not having an ego especially this day
and time.
Why are you in school?
It has always been a goal to return to school and obtain my degree, this was a promise I made to
myself and my parents. Life happened, family, returning to school took some years.

My strengths: c encouraging, self-motivated, ability to listen, multi-tasking, problem solving. fast/self-
learner.
How do you learn best?
I learn the best by "doing" hands on. I am a visual person; I need to see examples.

The programmatic course themes I feel fit best are: c self-care and ethics, self-care and ethics are
essential to a healthy mind. I feel if you are comfortable within yourself, any task or hurdle in life or
career can be acknowledged and dealt with in the most appropriate manner.
I chose a picture of my grandkids; they are my littles and so innocent to everything around them.
Reminds me of my childhood being the only child my parents sheltered me. I want to show my
grandchildren that it is never too late to "learn" and achieve your goals.
