Introduction
Denim pants made by Levi Strauss are presently available worldwide. From the founding
of Levi's, the approach of entering this worldwide scale seems to have been slow. We really have
to seriously evaluate a few variables in order to comprehend how they have worked up until this
point given that their items are available throughout the entire world. In order to do this, I'll start
by comparing the manufacturing operations of two different styles of Levi's jeans, one from 1922
and the other from 2013.
Globalization
Glancing at the itinerary in 1922, we can see that at that time, the cotton required to make
jeans was shipped from the southern US to Greensboro, North Carolina, where the fabric was
produced. From there, it was transferred across the country to be produced and sold in San
Francisco, California. n.d. (Amazonaw.com). This procedure involved shipping items through
one jurisdiction to another since it can take a while for various operations to be completed at
several locations. On the other hand, when we examine the supply chain in 2013, we can see a
substantial change in that the cotton used to make the jeans was produced in Brazil, the cloth was
also manufactured from that cotton, and the cloth was then shipped throughout the Atlantic
Ocean to Egypt where the jeans were produced. The finished goods (jeans) were subsequently
shipped to the US while still over the Atlantic Ocean, where they would be marketed nationwide.
So, we will be knowledgeable about worldwide once we evaluate these two manufacturing
channels and comprehend the procedures which were engaged in both procedure and equipment
with a concentration on what Levi's earned and lost via both manufacturing channels.
Additionally, this process of globalization had also produced multilateral transaction
commitments among numerous countries, the transfer of innovation among states, the
development of outstanding transit systems, and also the transfer of workers, among other things
that have influenced financial internationalization and made the influence of international
markets powers more significant in women's day-to-day lives than that of state opposition
groups, thereby transforming the globe into a more unequal place. The ports built by the great
Chinese explorer Zheng He in 1405 after discovering Africa as China's El Dorado are an
excellent demonstration of a mass transit framework like the Silk Road that crossed central Asia.
These transit systems linked the world economy and allowed for trade to occur among nations
from six regions. The remunerative transcontinental slave commerce, for instance, led to the
subjugation of more than ten million Africans, a development that had a major effect on the
future of African states since even after they gained independence, they only were in charge of
providing supplies to the richer nations around the globe, denoting that not all different
stakeholders attained equitably from this integrated wealth creation. (2010) (UNESCO)
Internationalization was still influenced through democratic considerations, therefore via
describing the idea and practices of election campaigns, I may think back on how they affected
it. Utilizing UNESCO information consistent with UNESCO (2010), Economic
internationalization is characterized as, and I cite, "includes broader recognition of geopolitical
norms such as civil liberties, democratization, the freedoms of labor, and safety regulations, in
addition to enhanced collaboration between operations by authorities and multinational
agencies."
According to the data and expertise provided by Humanities (2019), we may investigate
the interpersonal component of internationalization by taking a closer look at things example:
The sexual component has changed. There is indication that women are becoming more involved
in many facets of their lives, but that they keep holding down greater sporadic jobs than males.
Even though there is solid evidence that internationalization has also improved universal
participation in jobs and schooling, there remains a significant issue of gender disparity when
evaluating how easy it is for men and women to obtain social care. 2019 (Academic).
indigenous ethnicities and conceptual frameworks disappearing. Before the procedures of
internationalization, each civilization had its own distinctive culture in the areas of vocabulary,
cultural standards, moral behavior, principles, opinions, and municipal perception. However,
with the advent of global media and the use of modernization, advanced characteristics in other
nations and social frameworks have swept the globe, prompting many people to question the
democratic structures that have been impacted by other civilizations by taking a closer look at
their respective belief systems 2019 (Academic).
The procedure of altering Levi's jeans' manufacture seems to have a number of favorable
and unfavorable economic effects. For instance, by sourcing the cotton from Brazil, the Levi's
Corporation could well have made considerable savings because cotton was less expensive there
and they were also helping to boost the Brazilian economy by generating employment there.
People in the Southern United States, wherever cotton was originally produced earlier, may
suffer as a result, because they might lose their employment as a result of the production of
cotton shifting to Brazil. Several Us firms may also have suffered as a result of this cause.
The benefit of this transformation lies in the fact that they might have increased their purchases
besides sourcing widely rather than just from San Francisco, California, which may have resulted
in more employment for the states associated with this sector, increasing revenues and
comparative net profit. These are all improved market implications of internationalization.
The internationalization process is influenced by a number of social and environmental elements.
We may discuss ecological problems that could develop because more industries are established
as well as problems like deforestation that occur as profits increase throughout the world. While
costs will drop dramatically with an increase in output, there will nonetheless be a general
demand spike. This will occur in the consumption of global resources like fossil fuels, for
example, when making items in factories, as well as the release of carbon into the atmosphere.
Hence, more carbon dioxide will be produced by companies that burn fossil fuels to make items
like water bottles, and this will considerably raise the temperature of the planet, a problem that is
important to solve now and that will still have an impact in the future.
Globalization and Corporate practices
The aforementioned shifts in international procedures, in the fields of the world's
marketplace, geopolitics, and larger society, have also impacted global business methodologies.
This may be debated or argued along the lines of the following responses:
a consistent decline in the trade balance of industrialized nations. Prior to 1945, industrialized
nations like the United States of America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand controlled the
worldwide international market. However, as a result of internationalization, particularly after
1945, other economies like China, Japan, Singapore, and South Africa are now beginning to gain
market share. While studies indicate a growth in the proportion of other emerging countries such
as China, Japan, and Singapore, the export shares of those dominating nations in the textile,
networking devices, and apparel industries declined dramatically. For particular, by 1973,
exporting proportions of steel, iron, and chemicals were down. By 1983, export percentages of
automotive items were also declining, and their proportions are far below normal for highly
labor-intensive goods like clothes and textiles. While the proportions in capital and
research-intensive industries like automotive and chemicals remained above average, the drop in
the percentage of exports in the sector of capital and research-intensive products has been more
modest.
The global development of marketplaces and open commerce. Commerce was conducted
only inside the borders of independent states prior to industrialization due to impediments to
worldwide investment; absence of exporting or importing. Yet as a result of internationalization,
authorities eased obstacles to commerce by adopting a number of multilateral accords following
the Second World War. International liberalism is sought via many GATT discussions. For
instance, the General Tariffs and Trade Agreement (GATT) and the creation of the World Trade
Organization led to free trade between nations and had a significant impact on the global
business environment, including but not limited to lowering taxes on foreign businesses,
removing restrictions on the movement of labor between nations, and establishing price controls
for international trade. p. 21 of Globalization and Commerce, n.d.
Ethical Issues raised globalization
Because of the overwhelming majority of giant enterprises, the high level of bureaucracy
helped bring along by policymakers' participation throughout every level, and the overemphasis
on fabrication, investing, and utilization on the world basis, the internationalization process has
had far-reaching effects on global advancement but had already not yet achieved a rounded
foundation in the manner it is occurring to advantage all decision makers. For the numerous
sectors, internationalization is rational and beneficial, but it may be seen as an instrument of
cultural imperialism for the developing countries, therefore let me focus on the humanitarian
problems it causes in the globe: The mistreatment of employees from developing nations is a
byproduct of capitalism. The financial system allows businesses to operate throughout the whole
world, which has led to the misuse of a cheap workforce and a disregard for employees' human
rights. This needs to call for the encroachment of mandatory civil cases on the conduct of current
residence firms in the marketplace in order to allow enterprises to appreciate workers and human
rights. This may also necessitate the involvement of trade unions to advocate for worker rights in
order to create a favorable business atmosphere. 2009's Brenko Barj, p.
The consequence that worldwide daily operations jeopardizing customer lifestyles owing
to the provision of dangerous items is another grave humanitarian problem. As Auret Van
Heerden mentioned, anticoagulation is made from flavorings that are retrieved from pig
intestines. This is a company that involves very large firms worldwide, but it resulted in a
controversy wherein 80 people lost their lives as a result of polluted devices made through such
major firms. The inadequacy of the governments to safeguard clients out of such hazards owing
to the regulatory framework which limits laws acting beyond certain authority presents a valid
worry about the ethical issues in commerce and consumption, but it also nevertheless presents an
important risk to buyers' wellbeing. (2010) TED Global.
Conclusions: As a result, industrialization has demonstrated a significant influence on
international behaviors, whether positively and negatively. Company procedures have
additionally been significantly impacted by internationalization, which also brings up a number
of moral issues like joblessness, particularly in underprivileged areas, climate change like
polluted air and habitat loss, as well as consequences on the broad sense resound structure
because of business sectors such as industrial production. As a result, internationalization is a
lengthy task that has both positive and detrimental effects. It is also a procedure which should
continue into the foreseeable.
