PAD 345 7-1 video discussion
The general public and stakeholders have a right to be kept informed about local issues that
touch and impact the community. Sharing information about local concerns will help government
leaders build solid relationships with the individuals they serve. Involving the public in the
decision-making process so that they are informed and have the chance to voice their thoughts
will assist to create a dialogue for future policy and procedure development and implementation.
To even present this proposal to the legislature, all three stakeholders must all agree or be in the
majority of agreement. Hence, if they all desire a new arena and work together to argue why it is
a good idea, they will have a better chance of influencing it.
Using a hint from previous President Obama, I believe using the Ladder of Engagement to
develop a new ice hockey facility in Midtown would be a successful framework. Four phases
would be implemented: First, raise public awareness by informing and educating the public in
order to encourage participation. Informing the community on interests around a hockey arena/
ice skating rink. Placing an inquiry on the websites of universities and local communities to
spark a discussion for people who are interested, or to present the concept to them. The
university, in particular, would be interested in adding a new sport to the institution because it
has already had success with its athletic departments.
Knowledge: dissemination of information to the public and stakeholders about plans to grow the
neighborhood further by constructing a hockey arena. The general people will have a greater
grasp of the process and their roles in achieving the objective. Victor Morrison, a corporate
contributor with links to the University, is important in state politics, and is a benefactor, would
be a fantastic asset to assist advocates for the facility, in my opinion.
Engagement: establishing an accessible approach and allowing the public to engage in the
implementation will have two effects: first, it will demonstrate openness during this process. And
two, the people will have more faith in government procedures and local leaders. And it may be
useful in future policy improvements.
Partnership: bringing united municipal, business, and government leaders will assist assure the
success of developing a hockey arena. To guarantee that this new arena has a good impact on the
whole community, all stakeholders will engage in an equal weighted partnership. This will entail
stakeholders being an important element of the project's finance, which will be on everyone's
attention, notably the public. When a tax increase is adopted, the public needs to know how, why,
and how it will affect them personally.
By emphasizing that every participant has a role to play in the process and will be held
responsible for their contributions at all levels of policy creation. Being explicit and direct in the
venture ’s design, phases, and measures to assist assure a satisfactory aim.
