In 1937, Luther Gulick and Lyndall Urwick created POSDCORB to organize the bureaucracy of
the federal government of the United States (Mindtool, n.d.) and published their work in "Papers
on the Science of Administration." The abbreviation POSDCORB refers to what Gulick and
Urwick thought to be the primary organizing tasks inside a team or organization. Preparing,

POSDCORB is effective for handling important organizational tasks required for the
