Subject: PERRY'S PRINTING – "THE QUESTION OF SUSTAINABILITY
Mr. Perry, below are the answers to your four questions regarding
your plan.
A. aa How could Jeff's attitude toward social responsibility impact
Perry's strategy? Justify your rationale with support from course
materials.
One of the most well-known and effective brand awareness strategies
is becoming green. Although the strategy is suitable in the instance
above since the CEO is focused on the bottom line, there are
occasions when the business must make decisions based on the big
picture. Becoming green and conserving the environment helps you win
respect from customers and business partners alike. Consider how a
company's brand reputation is changing in the marketplace. Being green
is one of the most well-known and effective brand recognition
methods. For example, Amazon integrates incoming materials into its
packaging, but Apple pays partners who engage in an iPhone recycling
program (External Environmental Assessment, n.d.). Several electricity
providers are also promoting e-bills to cut down on paper usage. The
strategy is appropriate since the CEO is focused on the bottom line,
but there are times when the business must make decisions based on
the larger picture (Mastering Strategic Management, 2014). The notion
of being green and saving the environment aids in gaining respect from
customers and business partners alike.
B. Should Perry's Printing respond to this new strategic plan published
by their competitor? Why or why not? Justify your opinion with
support from course materials. aa
Perry's Printing may run a public relations campaign portraying itself as
a 70-year-old company already saving money. If Donovan does not
vigorously boost its marketing, Perry printing will begin to acquire
market share. For market penetration and outstanding brand memory,
it's vital to stand out from the competition. Nike, Apple, IBM, and
Amazon have excellent marketing tactics that have resulted in high
recall value for their brands. If Donovan does not aggressively promote
their marketing, Perry printing will begin to take market share. For
market penetration and high-quality brand memory, it's critical to stand
out from the competition.
C. aa Porter identified one of the most commonly accepted definitions
of strategy as "choosing a unique and valuable position, rooted in
systems of activities that are difficult to match." In other words,
differentiation is the key to strategy. If all competitors are choosing
sustainability as part of their processes, can sustainability really be a
strategy? Support your opinion with course materials.
Although sustainability should be an element of the plan, it should not
be the primary driver of increased customer awareness. The core
product should be easy to use, inexpensive, and cheap. The product
should be at the center of the plan, with environmental awareness
playing a supporting role. The actual product should be simple, low-
cost, and low-cost to price (McKinsey & Co., 2019). The product
should be the focal point of the strategy, with environmental
awareness playing a supporting role.
