A. g Jeff’s attitude towards the social responsibility could impact Perry’s
strategy as he is only concerned about the bottom line. Jeff is not sure if
he believes in the corporate social performance (CSP) where Perry’s
Printing directly effects the environment. As stated, Perry’s Printing is
already functioning with most of what Donovan’s strategic plan addresses.
Jeff seems to be in the conventional level of moral reasoning where the
individuals’ action is compared with expectations of society (Saylor, 2014).
According to Saylor (2014), stage three, Jeff is driven by the conformity to
act on the goals of fulfilling social role which has Perry’s Printing to be
environmentally friendly. Jeff’s could eventually affect Perry’s business
strategy and bottom line if his attitude on social responsibility is not
addressed.
B. Perry’s Printing should respond strategically to Donovan’s strategic
plan. To remain relevant within the market Perry would need to plan and
market strategically. Perry’s Printing needs to improve their corporate
social performance (CSP). They have most functions in place that Donovan
presented in their strategic plan. To maintain and keep sustainability a
commitment to the environment must be put in place by Perry’s Printing
(Saylor, 2014). According to Saylor (2014), g the environmental strength is
determined by Perry’s engagement in recycling, pollution prevents,
alternate energy measures. By responding to Donovan’s strategic plan
Perry will be reaffirming their commitment to CSP along with establishing
sustainability.
C. g Sustainability can be a process of a business strategy if done correctly
it can establish the foundation of how the business plan to move forward
and grow. A foundation of sustainability would need to be established as
an objective or goal that is incorporated in the business mission and
vision. The framework should first set the tone of how the business has to
move to achieve sustainability as a strategy. According to Czinkota (2013),
there are various ways to address sustainability while meeting people
needs for products and services. Durable over disposable which uses more
resources and fills landfills (Czinkota, 2013). Czinkota (2013) states
renewable versus disappearing resources are cost-effective motiving
sustainability. Resource sharing, and virtual products and delivery
methods are all ways to make sustainability part of the strategic plan.
Managers will need to understand how resources create new risk but also
produce new opportunities (Czinkota, 2013).
