• What are some key considerations that could drive
organizations to put metrics in place to measure the
effectiveness of internal communication initiatives?
Some key considerations that could drive organizations to implement
metrics to measure effectiveness are employee engagement rates,
employee feedback, and sales/ customer satisfaction. Some benefits
of employee engagement rates are that they increase employees’
teamwork and productivity, improve employees’ overall experience
at work, and how top executives and managers communicate with
team members. Employee feedback is important to facilitate two-
way communication and to also personalize company updates. Sales
and Customer Satisfaction gives the enterprise a bigger picture of
how to give our customers a better experience. Employee Profiles
are also an effective way to measure communication among
employers. This will monitor employee engagement and how they
upgrade their profile so others can see it. b
• How might the metrics be similar or different with an external
communications initiative?
The metrics can be like external communication by pertaining to an
organization's clients, prospective clients or customers or anybody
outside the organization. These communications can include valuable
information concerning new products and services. Internal
communication is based on any information that is shared with the
employees and shareholders that includes the share borders. Internal
communications can make changes like company policies for
example, and only be relevant to the organization and not the
outsiders.
• Why are the business environment organizations operating in
an important consideration when implementing metrics?
Organizations operate in an important consideration when
implementing metrics. Because metrics drive improvements and help
businesses focus their people and resources on their goals. Metrics
help tell the organization where it is heading, whether something is
right or wrong, and when the organization reaches its target. A good
metrics will drive the strategy/ direction of the organization, help
make decisions, drive performance, and produce good internal and
external public relations. It is important to implement these factors
because it guides the organization to target their assets and how to
overall improve as a team.
There are key considerations that drive organizations to put metrics
in place that will measure the effectiveness of internal
communication initiatives. For example, poor employee performance
standards, decrease in customers, or decrease in revenue. These
business metrics can be communicated through analytical and
observational data. How you communicate is just as important as
what you use to communicate.
Some metrics may look similar regarding external communications.
When leveraging external communications, it is crucial to know your
audience, be inclusive, be engaging, and be consistent. External
messages aim at communicating with external parties, but the
purpose of the messages typically aligns with the standards of
sending an internal communication.
Implementing metrics should be considered a crucial business aspect.
Metrics indicate the priorities of the company and provide a window
on performance, employee engagement, and efficiency.
