The statement “The best-performing companies worry less about performance and
more their organization capabilities” (Bititci, 2015). This statement is true. According to the
Harvard Business Review, “Organization’s capabilities are key intangible assets”
(Smallwood & Ulrich, 2004). You can’t see them or touch them but represent the ways that
people and resources are brought together to accomplish work. These capabilities are an
organization's collective skills, abilities, and expertise (2004). They are learned and enhanced
through communications, training, compensation, and resources from companies investing in
their staff. They are shaping employee perceptions, behaviors, and understanding shapes. A
clear understanding of organizational culture consists of shared beliefs and values established
by the company, which enhances company capabilities. 2
