Toyota is an international auto maker that has become an innovator and
dominating force in the automobile industry. They’ve done this with a strong focus on
innovation, quality, consideration of the planet, and their commitment to customer
satisfaction. Another key factor in their success is their focus on engaging the talent and
passion of those within their organization and a strong focus on future growth and market
trends. Toyota’s main source of revenue comes from automobile sales across the globe
which spans multiple brands in addition to Toyota, such as Lexus. The addition of
numerous brands within the same organization allows them to reach multiple
demographics of customers while creating efficiencies among their product offerings.
These efficiencies allow cheaper and faster development and new products with shared
technology to reduce costs and increase revenue.
In order to maintain their status as a leading innovator and manufacturer amongst
their competitors, they have created joint ventures with new and existing stakeholders.
One of the most impactful joint ventures would be the partnership with Panasonic.
Panasonic is a leading technology company that creates everything from household
appliances to now integral components of vehicles. Partnerships such as these allow both
companies to grow and innovate new ideas at a faster pace than their individual resources
could support. Staying ahead of the market trends and focusing on creating the future of
their vehicles and customer experience is how Toyota plans to remain the automobile
giant they are known as.
Toyota has an organizational structure like many companies. They have a board
of directors overseeing the whole company internationally while individual leaders at
regional headquarters lead the charge in each of their respective markets. This breakdown
allows for a centralized mission such as their goal to reduce emissions across the globe.
At the same time this allows an individual focus on the complexities and strategies in
each of their expansive markets.
Toyota can be a strong example of utilizing key stakeholders and partnerships
across the globe to grow multiple individual markets while reducing costs and
simplifying manufacturing in multiple locations. Working with partners in key markets
while utilizing partnerships to reduce costs and grow struggling markets can help create
our next stage of growth.
