Hello to all my Peers,
I have a bachelor’s from New Jersey Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I am
currently employed at Pratt and Whitney, working as a Warranty Analyst. My role involves working with
customers and many other organizations within the company. Through conversations with my manager
regarding personal growth and career development, it was suggested that I consider starting my MBA
and how it would help further my growth within the company. After two years of contemplating
pursuing my MBA, I finally decided to start. I chose SNHU to be the institute to further my development
and learn how an organization operates and conducts business. SNHU stood out for me as the institute
that can help me achieve this goal at my own pace. This style of learning is very important for me as I
work full time and the fact that I have been out of school for thirteen years. Knowing that I can work on
my own pace I feel confident that I will succeed and gain skills and knowledge from SNHU, I can succeed
in furthering my professional career and personal goal.
Three core values that my company will be built on are Integrity, Teamwork, and Empowerment. I would
want each employee within my company to live by and work with these core values in mind for the
success of the business. The first core value: Integrity enables employees to work with honesty, ethical
morals, and guides them in the right direction in making decisions that positively affect the overall well-
being of the company and the business it conducts. The second core value is teamwork; I believe this
value to be the biggest key to a company’s success. Teamwork is about everyone working towards a
common goal despite of the personal differences and individual thoughts. Teamwork is a value that
encompasses a variety of skill sets such as collaboration, communication, shared ownership, willingness
to learn from a team member, and encouraging others to complete their tasks to achieve a common
goal for success. My third core value will be empowerment. When a company values empowerment I
believe that they are showing their employees that they are trusting them to make decision on their
own for the success of the business. With empowerment comes ownership and accountability of the
decision on the projects they are working.
I would like to share one example of empowerment from my current role. My current organization is
going through some process improvements to enhance and remove any inefficiencies within the
standard work. The management team has authorized me to make the changes to all the standard work
and work step instructions that the department uses to become more efficient. With this task I am
empowered to make off the decision on what changes need to occur and I feel a sense of ownership and
pride. I am also held accountable to the overall success of this project, and they have given me their full
trust that I will be able to accomplish task with great success.
With these three core values I believe the company can sustain in any environment and overcome any
challenges that arise. I hope my thoughts on the values can help others in their professional and
personal lives.
