Introduction
I was asked to determine whether the salesperson's immobilization data from the Pacific
region are exact before using this in the ad. The salesman states that costs per square foot of
home sales in this particular region are above the average cost per square feet. She says that her
home sales average cost per square foot is $275.
Setup
The population parameter in the Pacific region is costs per square foot. The null
hypothesis is that the average cost per square foot of home sales in the Pacific Region equals the
average price per square foot. The alternative hypothesis is, that the average cost of home sales
by square foot in the Pacific is greater than the average cost by square foot. The test I will use is
the test distribution because the alternative hypothesis will be more than zero. The test remains
tailed. The level of importance is .05.
