Greetings Everyone,
Technology's function in business is to strengthen any competitive advantages that a company
may have. Whether it be in terms of operational effectiveness, differentiation, cost leadership, or
customer orientation (the five strategies that are used to combat Porter's five competitive forces).
Technology is meant to make a firm run more cost- and maintenance-effectively when
implemented properly. Technology keeps us on our toes because of how quickly it is developing.
A firm or organization has to stay on top of the most recent (and useful) technological
developments in order to compete and avoid falling behind its rivals.
Intelligent systems are a prime example of technology being applied in business. Information
systems that are intelligent are capable of autonomous decision-making. The concluding
example, "IBM's Watson," is the ideal illustration of an intelligent system designed to operate
organically in human terms across a wide range of activities and processes, or artificial
intelligence. With everything it has to give, IBM's Watson has flourished and is extensively
employed in many businesses and nations (Medicine, Financial services, Travel services, etc.)
With the vast quantity of data that Watson could keep and analyze, medicine was the top pick for
the IBM executive. The platform was able to read and retain patient histories, nurse and doctor
notes, medical textbooks, track drug test trials, assist doctors in making the best treatment
decisions, and read and recall all of the world's medical publications in a couple of seconds.
