One of the tools that I used to protect my PC was a firewall. A
firewall is like a filter for your computer or device, scanning data
trying to enter your network or computer. It prevents anything that
even looks suspicious from getting inside. Funny enough, this is the
reason that my e-mail has a number three in it because my old
firewall prevented me from finishing my registration until I shut off
the firewall. This was back when my PC was running XP. I don’t
remember the name of that firewall because at some point
discounted using it as it was a little too effective and was cocking my
bandwidth. I have used Kaspersky Internet Security AVG, and Avast
as antivirus and firewall. All of them are security suites that I have
used a to protect my computer in the past. A firewall isn’t an end-all
protection, so I would use it in conjunction with an excellent security
suite providing VPNs, antivirus, and malware protection. A security
suite will provide my client or clients with a higher level of security.
And as security suites have advanced, they add more tools to keep
your computer or network safe. A good hardware firewall is also an
excellent tool for securing a network as it controls what traffic
should and shouldn’t reach a server from the source. Either firewall is
perfect for networks and computers. A hardware firewall can free up
memory on a hard drive that would typically take up by its software
counterpart. But as I said before, most security suites come with a
firewall.
