After reading the five-healthcare construction best practices for
occupied healthcare facilities, I believe that understanding the
infection control/ risk assessment requirement and ensuring that
they are met are the best practices that I think will be most essential
for ensuring that an organization’s capital plan will be successful.
Some of the requirements are location of the construction project,
standard cleanup procedures, proposed air filtration plan and
procedure and personal protection equipment (Touchstone, 2011).
Infection control itself is very crucial when it comes to patient care,
and I believe that this category really focuses on safety. Having
access to the correct practice, spread of infection, and be reduced
and lessening the chance of contagion to patients as well. While
establishing this practice, it is important as well to take an
interdisciplinary approach to collecting feedback and thoughts from
employees. This is for the safety of patients and staff altogether. It is
important that organizations are strategic to be successful. I believe
that having the right equipment and projects to deliver safety makes
it my choice.
