The lessons we can learn about ourselves, others, and the world we live in serve to make us more
well-rounded and introspective. Studying the humanities should make us feel closer as a species,
allowing us to understand each other. For instance, one of the works I chose for my exploration
document is Plato's The Allegory of the Cave. Reading, understanding, and examining that work
would be beneficial to nearly anyone because it would make them consider how society,
knowledge, and misinformation can shape our experience. I think studying humanities is studying
what it means to be human. Studying what is means to be human would lead to a more
thoughtful, inclusive, and cohesive society.
Making use of these principles in the workplace could look like a few things. For instance, taking
the time to step back and carefully view the work you are looking at. This is something we have
done frequently throughout this course, and that skill can be highly beneficial in the workplace.
Studying humanities also may help you form better bonds with your coworkers and give you an
environment you feel safe to do your work proficiently in. The humanities are incredibly important
to my future career and my current career as a small business owner. I am in school to get my
degree in marketing and in marketing, the humanities are used in order to reach a target audience
and make them feel a certain way about something specific. Getting a better understanding of the
humanities and how to use them in my future career is vital to my own personal success. When it
comes to my current career, it's also important because art affects people in different ways and I
have to make sure that my work can be interpreted in the way I meant it to be. The impact of
humanities has many benefitable benefits for my career path as I will be in Healthcare
Administration. It helps me expand my knowledge of human culture. Humanities gives me the
understanding of the world we live in and the knowledge of what brings us together and what
makes us different. It will help with my communication skills and the ability to express my
viewpoints in situations. Humanities give me the tools on how to critical think. Being able to
receive and analyse knowledge and develop solutions to solve problems. The impact of humanities
just aids me in my career path but my personal life as well.
The study of Humanities includes but not limited to art, literature, history, philosophy, and ethics.
The perspective of the humanities can have a positive impact on my current profession (business
owner) and my current profession (business accountant) using literature and ethics. Literature
because it is hard for me to comprehend what I am reading. Owning a business, it’s a lot of
paperwork and understanding what I am reading. Humanities lets us look deeper into what we are
looking at and that is what I need to do to understand if my business is going to take off or fail.
It's not just about numbers and if I am making money. Ethics the discipline dealing with what is
good and bad and with moral duty and obligation. In my future profession of Business Accounting
and Finances, I believe this to be a great part of doing what is morally right as far as making sure
that these businesses are doing what they need to do and not causing fraud.
In my current career path, I think the perspective of humanities can help me to better understand
how to create the art that I want to. It can help me to convey complex emotions to the viewer
and help me to better convey the message that I want through the games I look to create. It is
important for me to be able to understand the kind of emotions that medium can play and how to
use that to my advantage to create things that I want to.
