The Medical Model is an individual that has a physiologically based
illness or disease.
The Public Health Model is an individual, groups, and society that has
a disease or illness. Environmental and social pressures also
contribute to the problem.
The Human Services are "Problems in living" may be internal,
environmental, or intrapersonal.
The difference is medical model is someone seeking medical help
from one or more doctors to feel better from prescriptions to
therapy, the public health model works with a social service
professional when needing medical help with prescriptions, referrals,
and counseling. The human service model works with an individual
that needs family services with an agency to help in living conditions,
families a in need of assistance of food, shelter, and improving quality
of life.
