Training areas
The training encompasses two critical components:
Cultural diversity and
Compliance needs
The training would give an opportunity to the staff to
work in a culturally competent environment while
complying with necessary rules and regulations
HIPAA Security Laws
Safeguarding patient’s personal health information (PHI)
Using appropriate technical, administrative and physical
safeguards in the health care setting (US Department of
Health and Human Services, 2017).
Physicians must play a proactive role in ensuring the safety of
the electronic records of their patients.
Policy and Procedure changes
All employees will attend annual mandatory training on HIPAA compliance and policy and procedures
compliance. Training will be provided on a as needed biases also.
All medical documents contain patient health information that needs to be disposed of will be placed
in a locked shred box. The shred box will be cleaned out weekly and all documents will be shredded.
There will be no discussing of patient health information in public areas. Patient health information
should only be discussed for reasons related to care
A key policy that will be introduced is the creation of culturally competent health care organization.
HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules must be followed at all times. If caught not following the rules
employees will have consequences, probation or termination.
Importance of training
The current issues that exist in each of the healthcare
organizations can adversely affect its performance.
The training initiative has been designed to ensure all
compliances are given due importance and a diverse
organizational culture is adopted.
The training will empower the staff to deliver better care
to patients.
