Creating the strategic plan for Gateway Healthcare Systems allows the
departments to move forward with a unified mission and vision to
improve efficiency and productivity and better serve patients. The
SWOT analysis allowed for the examination of the strengths and
weaknesses of each department. Using accreditation standards set by
The Joint Commission enables the departments to maintain
credentialed and competent employees. Developing this plan
uncovered the need to expand and educate staff members about
cultural diversity and physical differences.
Project management is used during the development of a strategic plan
to help guide the process and confirm specified goals are met. It is a set
of established procedures used to coordinate each aspect of the plan
(Grebner & Mattingly, 2017). For Gateway Healthcare Systems, it is
allowed for all training and compliance issues to be properly addressed.
It also helped guide the process of developing and implementing
training.
